Ximending

The vibrant district of Ximending is known for its shopping and culture, with a long history in the arts and theater. Ximending (XMD) is part of a greater initiative by Oaktree Development to re-invigorate the neighbourhood through residential projects that are well thought out and executed.

XMD takes inspiration from the famed Wu Feng Chi Falls of Yilan. The building massing is separated vertically into 2. The upper portion mimics the 3-tiered waterfall with is undulating facade, which cascades down various angles and offsets at the corner. The podium facade pulls apart here to embrace the downward flow. The datum created between the 2 massing addresses the scale of the context, and provides a practical change in the floor plan.

XMD will start selling in Spring of 2025.
